Enforcement
The official process of making someone do what a court decision requires.
Definition
Enforcement is the process of compelling a party to comply with a court judgment or order. Methods include warrant of control (seizing goods), attachment of earnings, third-party debt orders, and charging orders over property. Each method has its own procedure, cost and suitability depending on the debtor's circumstances.
In practice
Winning a judgment does not mean the money arrives automatically — you may need to take a further enforcement step if the defendant does not pay voluntarily.
